Post image for How People Disagreeing With Your Content Can Earn You (More) Money

For this post, I took a situation that I am currently going through, and turned it into a piece of advice!

I will be referring to one piece of content from one of my passive income sources that has gotten more negative comments, dislikes, and hateful thoughts than all of my other pieces of content combined!

The coolest thing about that specific piece of content is the simple fact that it is my highest earning piece of content on that medium!

That’s right…my most hated piece of content is also the one that earns me the most money.

It is not that it is a bad piece of content, but it is simply that many people disagree with a small chunk of information that I provided in that piece of content.

The disagreeing has caused its earnings to grow at an unbelievable rate, and throughout this post, I’ll explain why that happened, and how YOU can replicate the situation!

Controversial Content And Bad Content Are Very Different

Please don’t interpret this post in the wrong way!

I am not telling you to post horrible content and hope that people will hate it enough for you to see some dollar signs. Producing bad content will lead to people clicking the “back” button on their browser and will definitely not lead to you seeing any significant earnings.

Controversial content, on the other hand, is produced well, but simply causes people to strongly disagree with part or all of what you are saying. Producing controversial content will get people worked up and engaged, which will ultimately lead to it getting exposure and earning money.

Why does controversial content get exposure?

Keep on reading…

Getting People Worked Up Enough To Share Their Opinions

Let’s say that you produce a controversial Youtube video…

People will watch it, and become very worked up because they are disagreeing with what you are saying.

A decent percentage of users will become worked up enough to leave an opinionated comment on your video. This can be anything from a small “I don’t agree with what you’re saying” comment to a full-blown venting session!

This is where the money comes into play…

Them leaving that opinionated comment will cause your video to show up in the public feed of their Youtube account. This exposure will then cause their friends/subscribers to see your video, which will then cause a small percentage of those friends/subscribers to watch it.

Once that has happened, a small percentage of those new viewers (from the original viewer’s feed) will comment, and the whole process will start over again!

This process is literally what made my piece of content’s earnings skyrocket!

You Have To Be Strong Enough To Put Up With The Comments And Hatred

The one thing about this strategy is that it can be very demoralizing if you don’t have thick skin!

Seeing hundreds of negative opinions per month has definitely caused my skin to thicken! However, each comment left a small dent in my morale when they had first started to roll in!

The one thing that I learned when doing some research about the matter is that with more fame comes more hatred. Seeing an increasing number of “hater” comments means that you are becoming more popular in that medium!

I felt much better after thinking about it in that way.

What pains me the most is the simple fact that I was considering taking the piece of content down because it was starting to receive about ten negative opinions per month!

Thank goodness I kept it published! Not only did it make me much stronger, but it also opened my eyes to a new passive income tactic that I can replicate.

Speaking about replicating it…

How To Replicate This Tactic

So, you want to earn passive income from a controversial piece of content?

Follow the instructions below…

1. Pick a topic…any topic will do

2. Discover an opinionated aspect of that specific topic, and develop a very strong opinionated view of that aspect

3. Create a piece of content that expresses your opinionated view very strongly

4. Figure out a way to monetize that piece of content

5. Promote that piece of content in places that have people that have strong opinions of the matter to get the snowball started.

6. Watch those negative and controversial opinions roll in, thicken your skin, and earn you some mula

And that’s basically all that there is to it. Sometimes it’s beneficial to go against the grain.

Another added benefit to this is that some people will see your content and agree with what you are saying. Those individuals will probably end up being your true life-long fans because you and them share such a strong common opinion!
